Atheist Alliance of America delivers with its extensive reach, connections, and experience now offers exciting new content to its members and to the public while serving as a facilitator for secular activists and community organizations at all levels to achieve their own objectives.

New as well as established activists can help the public and take advantage of our national platform. Our programs include our Atheists Helping the Homeless, training in street epistemology, critical thinking, secular and even in disciplines such as mindfulness meditation. We’re also putting together a speaker’s bureau and placement program for those who are interested in incorporating traveling into their activism. Individuals and groups alike may wish to collaborate with AAoA, seek a formal affiliation, or come directly under the AAoA banner.

David Silverman, 2017 Recipient of The Richard Dawkins Award

Atheist Alliance of America and the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science are pleased to announce David Silverman as the 2017 recipient of the Richard Dawkins Award.

Mr. Silverman has helped unite the atheist community and has tirelessly advocated for political and social justice causes for more than 20 years. He is President of American Atheists and was the creator and Executive Producer of the 2012 Reason Rally. He has appeared on dozens of major news programs including Hannity, Tucker Carlson, The O’Reilly Factor (spawning the famous “WTF meme-face”), The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson, FOX and Friends, NPR’s All Things Considered, and many more.

Aron Ra Resigns as President of Atheist Alliance of America, Focuses on State Senate Run

Aron Ra, the atheist activist and science communicator, has resigned as President of the Atheist Alliance of America, according to an article from his blog. He has decided to move on from the organization to focus on an increasingly busy schedule related to his Texas State Senate run. “So in an effort to minimize distractions, I have resigned as President of Atheist Alliance of America to concentrate on my increasingly busy State Senate Campaign. Yes, I’m really doing this despite how much of a long shot this is,” Ra noted.

Atheist Alliance of America Evolves

Atheist Alliance of America (AAoA) recently underwent the most significant changes since its inception nearly a quarter century ago. For those who are unaware, AAoA had historically been run by an affiliation of separate atheist organizations, which, as one might imagine, presented extra responsibilities for the affiliates and challenges for AAoA when it came to making substantive decisions in a timely manner.  In early 2016, Mark W. Gura and the Board successfully petitioned the Affiliate Council to relinquish their decision-making authority so that AAoA could control its own future in a democratic fashion. This marked an enormous turning point for our organization, and we are deeply appreciative of the kindness our affiliates and collaborators have extended to us over the years, and for the gracious manner in which they supported our request for autonomy.
